After Orvieto, we went to Cartona. Cartona is a hilltop town in Tuscany, about 45 minutes from the villa. We explored and did a little shopping.

We went to Firenze and explored some of the stores that sold leather goods. We also walked around and admired the many old buildings around. There were quite a few tourists and the weather was nasty. It was steamy hot. Gelatos helped to mitigate some of the heat. We also watched most of the Greece-Russia football game in a bar set up in the square close to where our car was parked.

We went to Spello after a late start. Spello is famous for its cuisine and we found time to enjoy it. We also found time to go up to Collepino, a hillside medieval village before going back to Spello for dinner.

Today is Florine's birthday. To celebrate, we are going to climb another hillside town, Montefalco. We are going to have lunch at Camiano Piccolo and then maybe find another little town to explore. It depends on how hot and humid the weather gets. Summer has finally arrived in our part of Italy and it has been awfully hot the last few days.
